Good News! Kangchuanji Helps Partner Achieve China's First Approval for Olmesartan Medoxomil Orally Disintegrating Tablets

According to the drug approval information released by NMPA, Guangzhou Yipinhong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has obtained approval for its Olmesartan Medoxomil Orally Disintegrating Tablets. This product is the first generic version and the first to pass consistency evaluation in China. Kangchuanji provided services for this product.

Olmesartan Medoxomil is a new type of angiotensin II receptor antagonist used for the treatment of hypertension. It was originally developed by Daiichi Sankyo of Japan and first launched in the US in 2002. The product has not yet been imported into China.

Olmesartan Medoxomil has a relatively long half-life, with efficacy lasting 24 hours, requiring only one dose per day. Its therapeutic effect is superior to other earlier‑launched sartans, making it an ideal antihypertensive drug. Data show that the hospital market size of the olmesartan product series reached RMB 1.49 billion in 2023.

Compared with conventional tablets, orally disintegrating tablets are easy to swallow, more convenient to take, and can avoid the first‑pass effect in the liver, leading to rapid onset of action.

A Strong Start to the New Year – Kangchuanji Achieves Multiple Approvals

Among these, Isosorbide Dinitrate Tablets are the first in China to pass consistency evaluation.
