Good News! Kangchuanji Helps Partner Achieve China's First Generic Drug Consistency Evaluation for Co-Trimoxazole Injection

According to the drug approval information released by NMPA, the Co-Trimoxazole Injection (specification: 5ml containing sulfamethoxazole 0.4g and trimethoprim 80mg) manufactured by Nanjing Jinling Pharmaceutical Factory of Jinling Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has passed the national generic drug quality and efficacy consistency evaluation (referred to as "consistency evaluation"), becoming the first manufacturer in China to have this intravenous formulation approved through the consistency evaluation. Kangchuanji provided R&D-related services for this product.

Co-Trimoxazole Injection is a combination antibacterial agent with good efficacy against infectious diseases such as Pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP), occupying a unique position in clinical practice. It is indicated for the treatment of Pneumocystis pneumonia in adults and children over 2 months of age; for the treatment of enteritis caused by susceptible strains of Shigella flexneri or Shigella sonnei in adults and children over 2 months of age; and for the treatment of severe or complicated urinary tract infections caused by susceptible strains of Escherichia coli, Klebsiella species, Enterobacter species, Morganella species, Proteus mirabilis, and Proteus vulgaris in adults and children over 2 months of age when oral administration of co-trimoxazole is not feasible and when the body is not sensitive to effective singleagent antibacterial agents used for urinary tract infections.

According to NMPA drug approval information, the following products have been approved for marketing or have passed consistency evaluation: Famotidine Injection (2ml:20mg), Saxagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-Release Tablets (2.5/1000mg and 5/1000mg), Isosorbide Dinitrate Tablets (5mg), Vitamin B6 Injection (100mg/ml), Cefdinir Granules (50mg/0.5g), and Ambroxol and Clenbuterol Oral Solution (1ml: ambroxol hydrochloride 1.5mg and clenbuterol hydrochloride 1μg). Among these, Isosorbide Dinitrate Tablets are the first in China to pass consistency evaluation.
